Roper v. Simmons: Hats off to Missouri.

Roper v. Simmons was decided today. No more death sentences for children. Amen.

Maybe life without parole will go by the boards as well eventually.

How often is it that a state supreme court makes new federal constitutional law followed by an affirmance by the U.S. Supremes? Never, in my recollection. (I invite comments correcting me about this, as about everything.)

Chapeau to the Missouri Supreme Court.
